The Original house offers individually designed and furnished executive bedrooms, Four Poster suites one with double Jacuzzi spa bath, and one with a Victorian claw bath with wonderful views across the lake or gardens. A fine Palladian house designed by John Carr of York, built in 1761 for the Leicester family, who lived at Tabley for 700 years. The 1st collection of English paintings ever made hang in the rooms for which they were created. Artists represented include Lely, Turner, Lawrence and other English masters. Furniture by Gillow, Bullock and Chippendale. Includes a 17thC chapel which was moved from an island in 1927 due to brine pumping and re-erected adjacent to the house. A TV location for various productions. Wedding/baby-naming licences.....
